Our favourite piece of furniture inside the house? Our contemporary console table! This is why today we will let the experts introduce us to new pathways of modern and elegant consoles, through which the majesty and charm of those masterpieces will grip and fascinate us.
Let’s start our journey then!
At once a sublime work of art and a functional object, BANG II is a unique, hand-carved console table that defies easy categorization. Markus Haase’s two decades of experience as a sculptor and designer are evident in his masterful treatment of materials, where smooth undulations of bleached American Black Walnut appear as malleable as drapery as they curve in convex and concave forms beneath a hand-carved Bardiglio marble top.
Marco Costa is the best interior designer of Boca do Lobo and his creations are unique. Soho Console is composed by a collection of wood drawers finished in mirror and black glass with etched detailing, gold leaf, diamond matched rosewood veneer, high gloss blue or pink lacquer, and white lacquer with hand carved relief patterning.
The drawers are accented with handmade brass pulls and cut glass knobs; they are encased in a bronze glass box supported by a high gloss.
Lara Bohinc draws on her experience in metalwork with the Celeste Console. This piece has an elegant and playful form made from square brass galvanised steel rod frame, that contrasts with the fresh blue of the verdigris patinated copper surface, sides and drawer.
The design plays with circles and straight lines to create a piece that is delicate, light but complex. Two different mirror shapes accentuate the wave in the console’s surface and its flowing, light form.

Inspired by the planets and their orbital movements, a recurrent theme in Lara Bohinc’s work, the Lunar Collection features important pieces of furniture, with highly-figured marbles set like jewels within golden rims. The Collision Console table is a simpler, more compact piece, ideal to use as standalone design statement or to provide harmony to your living space.
The Debatable Matter console table, by Ilaria Bianchi of Dimore Gallery, is a wall mounted console table with two legs in calendered brass profiles, satinated and protected by a transparent coat; tabletop in polished Azul Bahia marble and sculptural ballasts in polished green Guatemala.
The Overlin’s bellied top is hewn from a single block of marble and then set atop a solid metal base. Shown with Statuary Marble top and Solid Silicon Bronze base. The Khouri Guzman Bunce Lininger Studio (KGBL) designs uncompromising, unapologetically contemporary furniture and this console table is one of their top pieces.
