French designer Gregoire de Lafforest is know for his anatomical furniture which resembles animal kingdom creatures. Today we present to you two of his amazing console tables each of them unique in its own way. Designer has a very modern and original approach to furniture design which we adore.
Designed to store all sorts of objects, Balka Console is a sleek and modern furniture piece that adds a sense of color and freshness to any home entryway. With a peculiar design, a top made of oak and a crazy yellow bag drawer, this piece is the perfect place to deposit those “small treasures of everyday life” that lost their use.
Boasting a simple, neat design, the top of this funky furniture piece is supported by solid plastic legs. Wood and plastic work well together here.
Archibird is a console – bird cage, in between a sculpture and a furniture.
The original idea was to design a bird cage which shape would radically renew traditional codes, and to integrate it in the furniture, by mixing it with a console. Therefore birds would be theatrelised, as if on a stage.
The glass domes on the console reminiscent of the rarity cabinets of the past, where wild species were represented from all over the world. The bird cage design radiates understated ease. You might think that floats the cage under the console. Actually, the white plastic tree supports the whole structure, as you can see it below. The legs look just so delicate and easily and complete installation in a very natural way to the designer.
